Top Bury rider, Simon Yates has been chosen to represent Great Britain at this year’s World Track Championships in Belarus. He will be competing alongside Olympic Gold Medallists, Ed Clancy and Steven Burke as part of the endurance squad.
Closer to home, Simon’s dad John, achieved a 2nd and 3rd place at the Manchester Velodrome’s 1st division track meet last week. The veteran rider won his placings in the Unknown distance and the 16-lap scratch race respectively.
At last week’s ACT league, Paul Whatmough posted 3rd in both the senior 12-lap scratch race and The Devil Takes The Hindmost whilst riding in group 2. Meanwhile club-mate, Geoff Downs, riding in group 1, also finished The Devil in 3rd place.
