Adam Yates finished 3rd overall in the prestigious Tour De Franche-Comté. The twin brother of the famous Simon Yates, competed in the five-stage event on the French-Swiss border where he also won a stage and the best under 23-rider.
Andy Horner returned to Tarleton in Lancashire last week to race at Southport CC’s weekly 10-mile time trial. In better conditions than the previous week, Horner managed to finish under 25-minutes with 24mins 20sec. Meanwhile club-mate Phil Ball rode in with 26:38.
Ryan Whatmough and Nick Hall rode the Litherland circuit race on Merseyside, finishing the event in 3rd and 11th respectively, Hall finishing 20-seconds behind Whatmough.
Dodging large hailstones in Garstang, were Vicky Heyes and Neil Duckworth, when they rode together in the Blackburn CTC 2-up team TT. The challenging weather saw Heyes, in her first TT, and Duckworth return a time of 40mins.
Neil’s father, Bob also raced along with Steve Side. The pair posted 29mins 46secs.
Martin Lee raced for the first time this season and returned a very respectable 25-mile TT-time of 1.01.31
