Nick Hall equalled his personal best last Wednesday at Rainford, Merseyside, when he raced to a time of 23minutes 4seconds in Wigan Wheelers weekly 10-mile time trial. He was pipped by club-mate Andy Horner though who stormed ahead with 22minutes 58seconds. This placed the pair 6th and 7th out of a field of 40 riders.
Andy was also in action on Thursday for the weekly “10” at Tarlton where, on a very tough and blustery night, he posted a time of 23.31 placing him 4th overall.
Saturday saw the Bury Clarion organised training session at the velodrome which attracted 15 riders from various Clarion sections as well as other north west cycling clubs. The session was well received by all those who attended and will hopefully be something we can repeat in the near future.
This weekend sees the National Clarion track champs at Manchester Velodrome, running from 2 till 5 on Sunday afternoon. Bury lies second in the Clarion Points competition and with only 2 events left ( track champs and Hill Climb) is hoping for a good showing to boost our chances of winning the annual points competition. If you don’t fancy riding in the event why not come along to support the club.
Sunday is also the last date for entries for the club “25” on september 26th. This is a handicap event so even if you haven’t ridden a TT before ( or for some time) you still have the chance to win!!
