March 2018 already?? Where has it gone?

So we had a busy February avoiding the bad weather but most of us managed to get some decent riding in…the women ride leaders are doing a great job of turning out despite the low temperatures!

March rides so far:

1)Sunday 4th March is the Charlie Westlake 100 km and Walter Pilkington 50 km memorial rides, a yearly club ride for anyone to join in. – with Ros and Adele.

2)Saturday 10th march is the 1st Club TT so most of our ride leaders are taking part. A 1st ever time trial for many of the women members, this will be a new challenge! Wish us luck…!

***For anyone else there is an event at the Rapha Café Manchester that day for the TFGM women on wheels networking event. Check out the info on this link So far we haven’t got a leader for a ride down there but it will be worth a look.

3)Sunday 11th -Social Ride with Lucy

4)Saturday 17th -Social Ride with Adele

5)Sunday 18th-Sunday Clarion with Nicola

6)Saturday 25th- Sunday 50 mile ride with Ros

As usual all route and plans will be posted to the Facebook page the week of the rides. Saturday rides start at 9am at the Ainsworth Arms, Sunday 9am from Barista.

So 25th February a few of us attempted the North West Passage Audax! While Joanna nailed the 200 km with the lads, I had to pull out after 48 miles from painful neck & shoulders from the new bike  I am still suffering !), Sally & Helen had a few issues with the route on Garmin and they also had to pull out late in the day. It was a great route though, one to try again next year!

Thanks again for the nomination for the National Clarion Clubwomen of the year, which I managed to win.  I will be picking up the award in Southend during Easter Weekend, along with the other club awards! Great Honour! But again  this is a team effort and all the Clarion Women Ride Leaders have made the women’s rides and increased membership a success! Not just me! I honestly would say that without Rosalyn Dines, the women’s rides would have been sporadic ! Check out her ride on this link!

Lots of love from us all to Charlotte who is recovering from a nasty accident ! Lost her bike too. Carnage!

Be careful out there !
