This is a ride event especially for families by Bury Clarion Cycling Club! A short ride along the popular Kirklees trail, also known locally as ‘The Lines’, a paved disused railway line which forms part of National Cycle Route 6. The ride starts in Woodhill Road, Bury and goes to the Greenmount Cricket club where everyone will be provided with some pizza! Then ride back a comfortable downhill all the way! What’s not to like?!

Read all the details carefully and make sure you will all enjoy the ride. A short parental consent form will be provided at the start of the ride for you to complete and sign. make sure all bikes are roadworthy and safe.

If you need any advice, by all means ask questions on the conversation tab on this website.

So Mums and Dads, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles can bring along children aged 5 years upwards if they are riding independently, or any age if they are in a trailer, baby seat or add on bike. We want children to enjoy their bikes. Experienced club cyclists will be on hand to help and advise and lead the way. No children aged under 16 will be allowed to ride without a responsible adult. Noone will be allowed to ride unless they have booked a place and provided full details on the clubs website or letsride. This is to protect children and make sure they are safe, which we are sure you appreciate!

Extreme care should be exercised approaching the start on Woodhill Road The pelican crossing facility must be used when crossing Brandlesholme Road. On the downhill stretches particularly on the return journey between Brandlesholme and Woodhill Road the rider’s speed should be moderated for pedestrian’s and children’s safety. At the end of the trail on Brandleholme Road you must walk along the footpath for the few yards to the entrance to the cricket club.

The designated responsible adult agrees that they alone are responsible for their children’s safety and behaviour in relation to other users of the cycle way. There is no entry fee for this event, please note the responsible adult will be responsible for any 3rd party claims incurred by themselves or their children.
The club want everyone to enjoy the event and will do what they can to make sure that’s the case, but the club nor its members, officials, marshalls and volunteers cannot be held liable for any incidents or injury.
